The only move up that me be a good idea is the high A carolina league. The Hoppers may actually save transportation costs in that league.

from what I have seen the last couple of years downtown, I don’t think the majority of the people that walks through the gate care what level of baseball is being played. Nor would they tell the difference between A and AA

It’s been explained by the other Don Moore in the newspapers a few times….

Basically, for each MLB Team, there are ONE Triple-A and ONE Double-A Team. Those franchises are extremely expensive to own and operate. Higher transportation costs are just the beginning. Private Planes instead of buses.

The Cost of Tickets are very similar so the profit margins are slimmer with higher expenses. I suspect the Grasshopper owners would rather be the Big Boys in a Small Pool, giving back to the community than just another team sweating the bottom line.
