News and Record’s All-Area Baseball Team…..

Here’s the All-Area team from Sunday’s N&R and we had this list two weeks before it made it to the paper. We held off on releasing this to the public because we have to be careful about getting too far ahead of the competition. It’s time to make this a level playing field again and we will move back in front when the fall ratings are submitted to the masses.

Andy, I sure would like to see more articles about girls fastpitch softball. Especially the All-Area girl softball teams. Some of these girls can run circles around the boys. I hope you write something about them. It would be greatly appreciated.
Smith HS Charles Glover, Avery Hardy & LA Allen were All Area Honorable Mention
I realize these lists are good for conversation but how can a kid like Daniel Tuttle make Aflac All-American and not be all-area or even all-conference? Will Myers and Matt Roberts only honorable mention? Does it possibly it bringsin to question the credibility of the list or at least promote some conversation. A local pitcher commits to NC State but is nowhere to be found? Maybe it just goes to show the depth of high school baseball talent in the Triad area.
