Yogi Berra to make an appearance at New Bridge Bank Park…

Greensboro, N.C. – Miss Babe Ruth’s new brother Yogi Berra will be making his first public appearance tonight as the Hoppers take on West Virginia beginning at 7:00 p.m.
Fans overwhelmingly selected Yogi Berra in the online voting for what the name of Babe’s brother should be; it trumped JoJo DiMaggio and Hammerin’ Hank Aaron in a landslide.
“We are excited to bring Yogi out to the ballpark for the first time tonight,†said Greensboro President and General Manger Donald Moore. “It has been great for the team to have Babe out at the park and Yogi will hopefully bring the same kind of excitement to our fans tonight. Yogi will be making several guest appearances at the ballpark this season, but has not yet decided if he would like to pursue a full-time interest in baseball.â€
Someone needs to let the Grasshoppers know there are Baseball greats that didn’t play for the Yankees. Ted Williams, Dizzy Dean, Ernie “New Bridge” Banks, Sandy Koufax, Honus Wagner, Cap Anson, Cool Papa Bell, Catfish Hunter (oops! he’s a yank) Satchel Paige, Pee Wee Reese, Ryno “times” Sandberg. Cy Young !!!
but you have to admit, the selected names are good dog names…
