Ricky Dowdy back at High Point Central today…

Linebacker Ricky Dowdy from High Point Central was back in class today after he was injured in the 7 on 7 scrimmage at Grimsley on Saturday. Dowdy was hurt in the championship game with Dudley vs. High Point Central.
Ricky Dowdy suffered his injury when he collided with a teammate while playing pass defense and he bit his lip and that’s why he was coughing up some blood while laying on the ground. Dowdy also incurred a concussion when his head hit the ground.
With his head hitting the ground and Ricky Dowdy ending up with a concussion, that’s all the more reason for every one of the young men to be wearing helmets during these 7 on 7 football scrimmages. Ricky is OK and he still will be on his way to N.C. State in the fall of 2009 after making his verbal committment to join the Wolfpack earlier this spring. Dowdy is a rising senior at High Point Central.
Coach Jones had his Black Bison back out practicing today over at HPC on the last official day of Spring drills. We are still waiting for HPC assistant coach Ken Helms to contact us here at the web site. He said on Saturday afternoon that he had something that the people needed to know and he would devulge that information here at GREENSBOROSports.com.
Thank-you to Coach Jones and to Coach Helms for talking with us on Saturday and Dudley tells us they are still the team to beat here in the Triad as we head into the fall of 2008.
Please do not refer to High Point Central as the “Black Bison” , only as “The Bison “as I was told early during the last football season “black “was dropped from the school nickname. Also keep your eyes open for a new logo at Central for the 2008-2009 season
