Boys High School Poll:#1)Greensboro Day School(28-1, the Bengals beat Calvary Baptist on Monday 71-47 with Johnny Thomas leading the way with 21 and now GDS travels to High Point Wesleyan on Friday night)

#2)High Point Central(22-2, the Bison defeated North Forsyth last Friday night 67-65 with balanced scoring and now HPC will host the Page Pirates in the Metro 4-A semis tonight.  #1 HPC vs. #4 Page)

#3)Dudley(18-4, beat WG by 50 last Friday and are the #1 seed in the Triad 3-A tourney at NEG.  The Panthers play #5 seed Rockingham County tonight(Thursday) and I’m sure that the Panther nation will remember the Rock beat them earlier this season)

#4)Northeast Guilford(21-4, knocked off Western Alamance in round one of the tourney and face #3 seed Bartlett Yancey tonight in the semis.  BY defeated NEG by 1 point 2 weeks ago.  Uzochuckwu, Ransom, Brown, Cleveland, Pettress, Hinson, and company topped BY 70-59 last Friday night)

#5)High Point Andrews(17-7, topped Southwest Guilford 74-69 Wednesday night in the Piedmont Triad 3-A tourney, and as the #1 seed, the Red Raiders will meet the #2 Glenn Bobcats for the title on Friday at Carver)

#6)Ragsdale(19-6, lost to Asheboro last Friday night 76-72 and then proceeded to lose to the Randleman Tigers, a #6 seed, in the first round of the tournament on Monday)

#7)Page(10-15, knocked off Grimsley on Tuesday 63-62 in OT and now face the Metro 4-A #1 seed HPC in High Point tonight in the tourney semifinals)

#8)Northwest Guilford(10-15, upset #3 seed Smith 42-41 in the first round of the tourney on Tuesday night and also beat Page last Friday 62-60.  The Vikings as a #6 seed face #7 East Forsyth tonight in High Point and NWG has a great chance to land a spot in the finals on Friday night.  Could be a re-match with Page or a war with #1 HPC)

Girls Poll:#1)Grimsley(24-1, beat Page 52-49 in the Metro semis on Wednesday and now meet High Point Central for the title on Friday night. #1 WhirlieGirls vs. #3 HPC)

#2)Northeast Guilford(20-6, took care of Rockingham County 45-27 in the Triad 3-A tourney on Wednesday and will meet Dudley for the title on Friday night.  NEG is the defending tournament champion)

#3)Ragsdale(22-4, stopped Trinity cold on Wednesday 74-42 and now meet #1 Eastern Randolph for the Mid-Piedmont title on Friday)

#4)Dudley(19-5, rolled over Western Alamance 58-38 on Wednesday and now will play NEG for the trophy at NEG on Friday at 6pm)

#5)High Point Central(16-10, defeated East Forsyth 66-58 on Monday and then upset Northwest Guilford 56-48 in OT Wednesday and now play #1 Grimsley for the title of the Metro 4-A conference on Friday)

#6)Northwest Guilford(19-7, demolished North Forsyth 83-33 on Monday and then got ambushed by HPC in OT on Wednesday night.  Coach Kenny Carter of HPC is so slick down the stretch in the key parts of the post-season.  I hear he buys his groceries at Culler’s Store on English Street in HP and he will be trying out some of the Education Lottery tickets after the tournament is over)

#7)Page(18-7, beat Smith in round one of the tourney on Monday and then fell to #1 Grimsley in the semis 52-49 on Wednesday)

#8 TIE Southwest Guilford(16-8, lost to Glenn 27-26 last Friday and now play the Bobcats again tonight in Piedmont Triad semis.  SWG #2 vs. #6 Glenn)  Eastern Guilford(13-10, beat West Stokes 57-52 on Wednesday and now face Reidsville for the North State 2-A title tonight as in Thursday)

I’m outta here till Greensboro Grimsley wins it all.

  2. David B says:

Hey lady, It’s not time to run. Hang in there and fight for the Grimsley Whirlies. My kids went to school there and I know Bob Jamieson and Bob Sawyer would be proud of our teams. It’s time to take out HIGH POINT and claim the trophy that is rightfully ours. In my years on the police force I saw it all and I think Grimsley will win this fight and it is a fight and we plan to stick in and win it all for the sake of Greensboro Senior High and all of those who came before us. This is a war we intend to WIN. Don’t jump ship now, it is time to get on the front line. DB:GPD

  3. Greg says:

Like I said before all championships have to go through the HPC girls we should be playing Page for the title, never count Coach Carter out of a game in February or March.
